Hello, my name is Schivette Hill. I am originally from Virginia Beach VA, but have resided in Charlotte, NC for the last 16 yrs. In my previous years, I spent 8 yrs in the U.S. Air Force as a medic. As a Veteran, I have seen firsthand the power of therapy for various issues that soldiers encounter. I am excited to serve military families as well as various client groups including those experiencing relationship challenges and those who’ve encountered sexual trauma/abuse.
After spending the last 10 years in Health Information Management, I’m excited to continue my journey, full time, in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I am very drawn to the emphasis on socially constructed realities, communication patterns, and expanding the richness of personal identities and relationships as authored by you the client. I believe that everyone is living their life the best way they can with the resources, knowledge, and skills accessible to them. Every person can expand their resources, knowledge, and skills through new experiences and connections.
I view therapy as a safe space in which people can try out new thoughts, feelings, and behaviors they may wish to incorporate into their daily lives. It is my desire to assist clients in being their authentic selves. On this journey as a Marriage and Family Therapy graduate student intern, I’m excited partner with you on your journey as we explore, learn and grow together.
